Save A crispy, flavorful appetizer featuring spicy buffalo chicken dip rolled in wonton wrappers and baked to perfection. Perfect for parties and game day snacking.
I made these pinwheel wontons for our last game night and they disappeared in minutes. The combination of buffalo chicken and melty cheeses in a crispy wrapper was such a hit that everyone asked for the recipe!
Ingredients
- Chicken & Cheese Mixture: 2 cups cooked chicken breast, finely shredded, 120 g (4 oz) cream cheese, softened, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese, 1/3 cup buffalo wing sauce (more or less to taste), 2 tbsp ranch dressing, 2 green onions, thinly sliced, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Assembly: 24 square wonton wrappers, 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash), Cooking spray or oil for baking
Instructions
- Prepare Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Filling:
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, blue cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, green onions, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined and creamy.
- Fill & Shape:
- Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean work surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the buffalo chicken mixture along one edge of each wrapper, forming a thin log.
- Roll & Seal:
- Roll each wrapper tightly into a pinwheel shape. Brush the edges with beaten egg to seal.
- Arrange & Oil:
- Place pinwheels seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush or spray the tops with oil or cooking spray.
- Bake:
- Bake for 16–18 minutes, or until the wontons are golden and crisp.
- Serve:
- Let cool slightly before serving. Serve with extra ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping, if desired.
Save We love making these together before family movie night. Everyone helps roll up the wontons and the little pinwheels always get a cheer when they come out of the oven hot and golden.
